Angela Stamps - Founder, Executive Director, Program Coordinator
Angela Stamps is a Detroit native raised in Flint, MI. She resided in Los Angeles, CA for 17 years working as a licensed Cosmetologist. While living in Los Angeles, she became a bike commuter and founded Kentakee Athletic & Social Clubs. She returned to Flint in 2010 to start teenage athletic and educational programs for underserved youth. Since 2012, Angela has created and provides bike programming in the Flint and surrounding areas. She commutes exclusively by bike. Her hobbies include cycling, listening to music, reading, volunteering and journaling.
Marie Jones-Watts - President, Board Chair
Marie, a lifelong Flint, Michigan resident, is passionate about health and wellness. She is inspired to serve her community by offering a variety of opportunities to improve overall health outcomes. As a change agent, Marie aspires to empower people to discover and draw on their inner wisdom to achieve their desired health and wellness goals while taking an integrated, wholistic approach. Marie is Associate Program Director, Mindfulness Initiative, at the Crim Fitness Foundation where her focus is on implementing and supporting mindfulness-based programs for the Healthcare and Business sectors. Marie retired as Director of Adult Services from Genesee Health System after 29 1/2 years of service. Marie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor. Marie is a NETA Certified Group Fitness Instructor. For over 20 years, she inspires others to reach their health and wellness goals by teaching a variety of group exercise formats in the Greater Flint area. Marie’s interests and hobbies include exploring and expanding her spiritual knowledge, cycling, kayaking, traveling, camping, hiking, and gardening. Marie views life through an optimistic lens and always encourages people to “Be positive. Enjoy life. Believe in yourself.”
Donna Taylor - Treasurer
Donna Taylor enjoys assisting grassroots community development organizations with their mission and goals. She has served on the Kentakee Board since March, 2012. She developed a love for nutritional health and physical activity, especially for our youth during her tenure, as a nutrition educator at Michigan State University Extension. Donna is a licensed Cosmetologist, Zumba Instructor, and certified vegan/raw food Chef. Her hobbies include ballroom dancing, knitting, crocheting and acting in local community theatre productions.
Michael Wright - Board Member
Mike Wright is the chief technology officer at the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, a job that involves designing, maintaining and administering all manner of digital technology used at Mott’s headquarters in Flint, as well as in field offices around the world. Mike joined Kentakee Athletic & Social Clubs Board May, 2019. Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of Michigan-Flint. Wright volunteers as a Boy Scouts leader, and he has coached students in the Fenton AGS Middle School FIRST Tech Challenge and the Durant-Tuuri-Mott FIRST Lego League. Wright serves as a board member at Red Ink Flint and is a director and co-founder of the community makerspace Factory Two. He also serves on the agenda committee for the Technology Affinity Group. Wright enjoys hiking, biking and camping.
Janelle McGann - Youth Advisor
Janelle Epiphany McGann was born in North Carolina on Camp Lejeune growing up in the metropolitan area of Atlanta, GA. Janelle has served on Kentakee Athletic & Social Clubs Board and Youth Advisory Council since March, 2018. Moving to Flint after the recession, she discovered Berston Bicycle Club Project, which revolutionized her life. She regularly commutes by bike to volunteer, work and school. Janelle enjoys reading romance novels, studying her bible and journaling.
